2009 Ruby Tuesday Rose, 2009 Sauvignon, 2009 Viognier & 2007 Cabernet Franc Ready for Release
Greetings again from the Napa Valley! Spring has sprung and that means Ruby Tuesday Rose is ready to move from our cellar to yours. In addition, for the first time we have produced 2 white wines, Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier. These are very small production wines and along with the Rose will sell out quickly. Also for the first time we bottled a Cabernet Franc. In the past we have used our Cab Franc exclusively for blending but this year we were so impressed that we had to set some aside and boy are we glad we did as it is fabulous.
May 15th will be our Spring Release Party and we're bringing back one of the Bay area?s hottest Country Rock bands, Rodeo House. They performed at our Harvest Celebration and did such a great job that we've brought them back. We'll pair these wines along with our 2007 Syrah, 2006 Big Ranch Cuvee and the 2006 Estate Merlot with bites of food to showcase their flavors. Many of you are familiar with past Syrah vintages and the 2007 is one of the best!Co-fermented with 4% Viognier to provide elegance and floral components, this wine is silky and sexy in the glass.
Our Zinfandel is from one of Napa?s most prestigiousvineyards, Green & Red, located in Chiles Valley.Green & Red is ahighly regarded grower of Zinfandel and we are thankful that we were able to secure a small amount of their fruit.The wine is full of pepper, spice and blackberry jam.Only 112 cases of this wine were produced so don't delay in ordering or it will be gone.
We still have some of our 2006 Big Ranch Vineyard® Merlot, 2006 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and 2006 Cuvée available and they are ready to move from our cellar to yours.We held back the release of these wines to give them more time to recover from bottling July 2008 and they are now ready!
The Merlot continues in our style of elegant, bright fruit with lots of power and structure.The Cabernet is a blend from two of Napa?s most notable AVA?s, Oak Knoll District and Oakville.This results in a wine with great depth of character and flavor.We?re sure that you will enjoy them as much as we do. For our second year we continue with our Big Ranch Cuvée. Our 2006 Cuvée is a Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc in a juicy style and priced to be enjoyed daily. Robert Parker tasted this wine and declared it "A sleeper of the vintage as well as a great bargain from Napa." 90 Points 12/09 Thank you for your ongoing support, encouragement and patronage. History
Beginning in 1998 when we purchased our property on Big Ranch Road in Napa, we held a vision that very special wines and memories could be created in this location. Since then over 20,000 vines of Merlot, Syrah,, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon have been planted, tended, nurtured, harvested, crushed and coaxed into fine wine.
The vineyard is located in the Oak Knoll Appellation of the Napa Valley which is known for its' slightly cooler climate and clay soils. This environment produces ultra-premium Merlot and Syrah used in many of Napa Valley's most sought after wines.
Today, while we still sell over 95% of our grapes to other premium wineries we also produce very limited quantities of ultra-premium wine. These wines are produced using only the best materials and practices in search of creating wines that reflect a full bodied style that express the best attributes of the land.
