Ruby Tuesday (the wine) is perfect for an afternoon refreshment, brunch or shower; a versatile accompaniment to a variety of foods. Made from 100% Syrah, light and fruity but totally dry and refreshing, reminiscent of the rosés of France.
The varietal that started it all for Boyd Family Vineyards! After aging in 70% Nadalie and Taransaud barrels for 22 months, the Merlot was blended with 7% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Malbec from the Napa Valley. This blend accentuates the black fruit of Merlot with vanilla overtones that express the deep rich flavors of our vineyard.
The Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley is similar in many ways to the Right Bank in Bordeaux in that it is the perfect growing region for Merlot and Cabernet Franc. This wine is a 50/50 blend of our estate grown Cabernet Franc and Merlot that has been aged in French Oak barrels for 22 months. It is a very special wine with the spicy notes from the Merlot and the silky texture and blueberry notes from the Cabernet Franc.
Since we first planted the vineyard in 1999 we have grown Malbec, selling most of it to other wineries and using a small amount ourselves for blending. Finally we decided keep the grapes and to produce a Malbec. The original name of the Malbec grape was Cot, which we considered using for this wine. Instead, however, we call it EntreCOTe which is French for a ribeye steak...which also happens to pair perfectly with this wine. To add roundness and complexity we blended in Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot to produce a wine with character and grace. It's full bodied yet not overpowering and enjoyable with cheeses or your favorite steak.
Fruit from the Speedy Creek Vineyard in Knights Valley has created this luscious wine. It has the darkest deepest purple color and notes of briar smoke, cocoa and peppercorn that enhance the wine’s cola, young blackberry and spice flavors. It all comes to a close with a long layered finish. Aged for 18 months in French Oak barrels.
The 2016 Syrah has aromas of sweet blackberry, cigar box, spicy black pepper and subtle hints of violet. A bold offering with bright fruit flavors of dark plum, chocolate and baking spices. Lush tannins lend to the brilliant texture and long, lingering mouth feel in this structured, yet elegant wine.
BIG, BOLD NAPA CAB! Everything you would expect from a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. This fruit is 100% from the Mogambo Vineyard in the Oak Knoll District. Aged in 100% new French Oak barrels, this wine is multi-layered and spicy, with a hint of pepper. Will age well over the next 3-5 years, if you can manage to keep it that long!! Very limited production.
