The varietal that started it all for Boyd! After 22 months of aging in 70% new Nadalie and Taransaud barrels, the Merlot was blended with 7% Napa Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Malbec. This blend accentuates the black fruit of Merlot with vanilla overtones that express the deep rich flavors of our vineyard.
The 2017 Syrah has aromas of sweet blackberry, cigar box, spicy black pepper and subtle hints of violet. A bold offering with bright fruit flavors of dark plum, chocolate and baking spices. Lush tannins lend to the brilliant texture and long, lingering mouth feel in this structured, yet elegant wine.

Fruit from the Speedy Creek Vineyard in Knights Valley has created this luscious wine. It has the darkest deepest purple color and notes of briar smoke, cocoa and peppercorn that enhance the wine’s cola, young blackberry and spice flavors. It all comes to a close with a long layered finish. Aged for 18 months in French Oak barrels.
